An overnight influx of support calls

Franklin County, MO

On Thursday, June 30, 2022, NOC was awarded the fully managed IT services contract for Franklin County, just hours before the contract with the county’s previous MSP expired. When Friday morning arrived, Nathan Hooker, Analyst Team Lead, and his help desk staff would face the challenge of a new client with over 300 staff members going through an overnight MSP changeover.


On that Friday, incoming support calls began to rise quickly. Between June and August,
incoming calls increased by 28.3 percent; going from 1,281 incoming calls in June to 1,644 incoming calls in August. Still, that August, our help desk maintained a speed-to-answer average of 15 seconds. In the meantime, our Engineers were able to fully take control of the network, stabilize it, and begin work on an abundance of much needed improvements.
